Of course multi-GPU gaming is always a viable option. Like any high-end GeForce graphics card, NVIDIA will allow you to opt for the multi-GPU road as you may pair two or three cards in one PC.

The GeForce GTX 680 has a maximum power consumption of 195 Watts, you'll need to power the card with two 6-pin PCIe PEG lead from your power supply. We recommend a 550 power supply to start with, with one card of course. You will notice a somewhat unusual shaped power connector, it's indeed stacked. Using a custom stacked connector design NVIDIA was able to save on the PCB footprint.

Connectivity wise we see two dual-link DVI connectors supporting all high-resolution monitors and all the way to the left you can see a HDMI (1.4a) connector and one DisplayPort connector. The top part has been kept open for ventilation so that the card can exhaust hot air.

The GeForce GTX 680 has a new cooler, inside the fan acoustic dampening materials have been used to prevent fan noise and unwanted weird tones, the cooler is now based of a triple heatpipe design and a customized fin stack shaped for optimal airflow. Once the ambient air has been used to cool the GPU, the hot air will be blown outside the PC through the exhaust as you can see above the monitor connectors. Make sure you have proper ventilation inside the PC chassis... always!

And here we have the card all nekked, a very typical and recognizable NVIDIA design. But let's move onwards towards the first series of tests.
