With the GTX 670s power circuitry (4+2 phases btw) moved to the other side of the board, the area on the right side of the PCB was empty and was therefore removed to save board space. The GeForce GTX 670 has a maximum power consumption of 170 Watts, you'll need to power the card with two 6-pin PCIe PEG lead from your power supply.

We recommend a 550 power supply to start with, with one card of course. You will notice a somewhat unusual located power connector, it's indeed almost in the middle of the PCB.

The GeForce GTX 670 reference board measures 9.5 in length. Display outputs include two dual-link DVIs, one HDMI and one DisplayPort connector. The top part has been kept open for ventilation so that the card can exhaust hot air, and do exactly that... lots of it.

The GeForce GTX 670 has a similar cooler design that the GTX 680 also uses, inside the fan acoustic dampening materials have been used to prevent fan noise and unwanted weird tones, the cooler is now based of a triple heatpipe design and a customized fin stack shaped for optimal airflow. Once the ambient air has been used to cool the GPU, the hot air will be blown outside the PC through the exhaust as you can see above the monitor connectors. Make sure you have proper ventilation inside the PC chassis... always.
