Inno3D GeForce GTS 450 iChill Freezer edition
The guys over at Inno3D have a fabulous product on their hands with the customized Freezer model of the GeForce GTS 450. The product comes with custom color PCB, and extremely silent dual-fan based cooler and a factory overclock.
The card comes in a nice sturdy design with the Freezer cooler that simply refuses to make any sound whatsoever. The cooler uses Inno3D's DTH (Direct Touch Heatpipe) technology where the heatpipe is contacted with the GPU directly. The heatpipe absorbs heat from the GPU, cooling performance is excellent.
Even with the card's default overclock to 820 MHz on the core and 3800 MHz on the memory the temps did not rise above 40 Degrees C on this puppy, quite amazing stuff there. One word of advice to Inno3D; the two blue stickers there are fairly repulsive.
The card has the typical single 6-pin power connector and comes with mini-HDMI and dual DVI connectors, gold plated actually. Overall a nice clean looking PCB, based on the reference design.
We noticed a slightly higher than normal GPU voltage meaning we can probably overclock the card really high. We'll look at that in the overclock segment though.
The card also has just one SLI connector, meaning there is a maximum limit on how many cards you can place into SLI mode, the GTS 450 cards will have that limitation set at two cards. A very nice card, but let's have a peek at the next one from Gigabyte.
