GeForce GTS 450 review roundup - ECS GeForce GTX 450 Black

ECS GeForce GTX 450 Black

ECS figured, aah the heck with it, the GTS/GTX branding is confusing. We'll just stick to GTX. And so they did as they released an ECS GeForce 450 GTX. Make no mistake, this is a GTS, yet they simply call it GTX. The product submitted today comes from their 'Black' series, and that typically means a pimped out graphics card. And for sure we see a customized blue colored PCB, and one of the biggest coolers you can imagine slapped on top of the GeForce GTX 450.

As you can see, the AC stickers are still on there, I do hope that the final product has them removed as that looks quite spammy. The card comes with a massive cooler which in fact originates from Arctic Cooling, it is the Accelero Twin Turbo PRO. And that ensures silent yet high performance cooling. Cooling wise that shows, as our tests will prove later on; nearly amazing stuff there, at even under full stress we will not pass 45 Degrees C.

The Black series products are often also pre-overclocked and thus so is this one with a nice 850 MHz core clock frequency, 1700 MHz on the shader domain and a memory bump as well to 4000 MHz. That will definitely give the GTS 450 empowering this card a little more bite alright.

The card also has one SLI finger on what seems to be a 100% reference based PCB, as well as one 6-pin power connector. Connectivity wise you'll see two digital DVI connectors and a mini-HDMI connector. A mini HDMI to HDMI adapter is included.

Overall a really big card, literally, as the cooler eats up a stunning three card slots. But that offers up a lot of cooling performance. This card will never pass 45 Degrees C in its factory overclock condition.
