CopAlmost two weeks ago we brought you a review on the NVIDIA reference model GeForce 7800 GTX. It became obvious that the new powerhouse, which is NVIDIA's newborn, is top of the crop, king of the hill, best of the best. The thing however is... it can get even faster. You all know very well that this card is SLI capable. Suffice to say that last week I received a GeForce 7800 GTX from another manufacturer. Today we are providing you with a full SLI review. Two graphics cards connected together in a PC, arming you with even more rendering power. Twice the power equals double the fun right?

So why should you buy SLI you ask? Well, there are many reasons to consider SLI. SLI offers you scalability big-time. Although the 7800 GTX right now is the fastest thing available, in roughly two years it'll probably lack power. At that time you for example could consider installing another 7800 GTX and double your rendering power. To be honest there is another factor, enthusiast people, the really sensible ones and they are called Guru's ;) There are multiple site members already that have shown their 7800 GTX SLI setup in our forums already (in fact 2 days before the officially launch!). They want the latest and the very best in their PC, they need to be up-to date, these are the people that repair family and friends PC's based upon good knowledge of PC's versus hardware and advise your relatives on what to buy in a PC. Our kind of people! The obvious downside is that if you will buy two of these puppies today you might need to donate a kidney to pay for all the gaming love. Don't forget, you need the SLI mainboard, high-end processor, heavy power supply and then two 600 USD graphics cards.

Over the next few pages we'll show you a some photo's, explain a little technology followed by a decent set of benchmarks/tests and of course we'll be concluding with "the verdict" on whether you should even opt SLI or not. To make a nice assessment on this lovely SLI madness we will be testing these cards on a Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI mainboard equipped with an Athlon 64 4000+ processor combined with 1 GB of memory.

So without further ado... let me take you through the fun called SLI.
