Watching Movies

Now who really watches and listens to a movie on headphones? Um no, me neither -- it's all about gaming and tunes man! But as always we'll give it a go regardless. I'll start with the T word.

Transformers: Age of Extinction

We start with Transformers, despite the critique these movies get, I can't help but really like this movie series.  The overall sound space is sounding pretty crisp and sharp, with the control pod we have increased sub (woofer) with two notches, and with FlexBass in software we set it at +6, only then the headset starts to sound like it is supposed too. At these settings  .. a pretty good sounding headset finally - I have to state that. Skipping into the movie we notice that SR910 is good with voices and overall clarity of the cinematic sound space.

Oh hello ! ;)

You'll notice little details, which in Transformers are plentiful. In one of the explosions that i always check with these headset reviews you will hear the rubble come down to the ground, and I swear the audio editors used ping-pong balls in there. That's how clear it sounds with these headphone kits. Laser shot sounds did  'exit' behind me so that was good. But watching movies with a headphone ... I am not sure if that is something you really want to do. There is nothing like having a true surround system. Once you get past that idea you will learn to realize and respect the overall audio quality though.

I watched roughly 20 minutes of the movie and do have to mention that the headset remains comfortable though the ears do tend to get a little warm, the headset remains very omfortable though. During movie playback we had the EQ tuned close to defaults with a hint more treble and a notch added on the 60 and 120 Hz low frequency ranges EQ wise. Watching movies (once tweaked) was a pleasurable experience overall with fairly dynamic and clear sounds -- with a bass (again once tweaked). Overall the SR910 is a pretty good headset for movies, gaming, Skype, but not for music.
