The keyboard weighs 1.25kg. The RipJaws KM570 MX features different lighting effect presets with the ability to customize brightness and speed, the capability to easily create your own per-key lighting pattern, and all the great keyboard features that makes life easier, such as built-in media control, dedicated volume control, n-key rollover & 100% anti-ghosting, a default 1000Hz polling rate, Windows key lock.

All keys have little red LED back-light LEDs, these are all configurable in animation. With the two buttons located at the top you can choose to en/disable them or alternatively dim the keys in seven stages.

As you can see, now there's much ambient back-lighting on, based on your preferences you can light up the keys in three dimmed stages. The brightest mode as shown above can actually be too bright at twilight and night time, in my opinion. It's great to have that option really. It's good looking set of keys alright. As stated you could also opt to just enable the WASD segment as shown above, arrow or all or no keys.

Also I need to mention that the keys can be individually lit but you obviously are tied towards the presets in memory.  To customize single-key lighting:

  1. Press “Fn + F8” to enter light customization mode. The Windows lock indicator light in the top right corner of the keyboard will flash while in the light customization mode.
  2. Press the key or keys you wish to enable or disable lighting. Key functions will be disabled while in the light customization mode.
  3. When complete, press “Fn + F8” again to complete the customization. The Windows lock indicator light will stop flashing.

By default, the QWERASDF, 1-6 keys, and space bar key will light up in the per-key light customization profile. The per-key light customization profile is saved in the keyboard, and can be accessed by pressing “Fn + F7” to cycle through the preset lighting patterns.

Overall a great looking motherboard. A very sturdy design actually, and sure .. the mechanical keys, the black casing/shell finish just makes this keyboard pop out.
