Meet Da Funk (not Daft Punk)

We test and review the Func KB-460 mechanical keyboard from FUNC. It comes with a some interesting gaming features that should be appealing to you as a gamer. The Func KB-460 is a mechanical keyboard and has been equipped with RED flavored switches (preferred by many). These keys have a long life span and can withstand a severe beating bringing you the stuff you as a gamer like so much. More recently mechanical keyboards have become the norm for gamers though and as such FUNC decided to drop the good old dome based keyboards and pursued the cherry MX switch based keys as well. As such today we'll have a peek at the all new KB-460 keyboard. For their first real 'mechy', it's quite a solid product.

As stated the KB-460 is a mechanical keyboard equipped with RED flavored switches (preferred by many).

We have seen it on several keyboards before already, but the keyboard is equipped with anti-ghosting capability which means multi-key presses at the same time are an option, again something gamers are after. You can press many keys at the same time without the keyboard input coming towards a grinding halt, using my ten fingers simultaneously was not an issue.

The Func KB-460 comes with several macro-keys, some local storage for the macro profiles and quick cycling through macro-profiles.

Features

Cherry MX Red mechanical switches
Silent linear mechanical switches with minimal travel distance for rapid fingers.

Full N-key roll over anti-ghosting
Forget annoying “beeps” of unregistered key commands.

Reliable, durable product design
Keep the same tactile feeling up to 50 million strokes per key.

Func Mode™
Activates re-assigned keys and disables the Windows key for a gaming friendly environment.

Customizable backlight key illumination
Adjust key illuminations brightness to your liking.

Comfortable palm rest
Keeps your hands strain and stress free during many hours of use.

2 x USB connect-through ports
Accessible connect-through ports for other USB devices.

Plug n play, no need for installations
KB-460 is completely plug n play ready; installation is only needed to personalize the keyboard to fit your gameplay style.

Re-assignable buttons
Re-assign the buttons and adjust the key configuration to suit your needs.

On-board customizable profiles
Switch instantly between 5 profiles stored on the on-board memory.

Integrated media controls
Smoothly change between songs or increase the volume without exiting the game.

The overall design of the KB-460 is appealing in a nice black dark design with RED backlighting keys. The keyboard is very comfortable at your hands and is adjustable in height (one stage). You will spot red LED brightness as stated the keyboard keys are illuminated and features a large (removable) wrist rest. If you are a PC gamer, you know how important it is to have the best mechanical gaming keyboard that suits your needs. And this one looks pretty nice to us.

The KB-460 mechanical keyboard as mentioned has a mechanical switch under every key there is on the keyboard. Obviously the keyboard is programmable as we'll show you later in the article. On the keyboard you may program five macro keys or individually assign stuff to keys. Priced at roughly 90 EUR / 100 USD let's have a peek into what more this keyboard has to offer shall we?
