Some more exterior pictures are below. The quality is good. FSP Hydro G Pro 1000W (ATX 3.0) is a nice-looking power supply with a scratch-proof casing.

This unit delivers enough power for most daily users, as there is a single +12 V rail with a total of 1000 W (83.3 A), so the unit should manage even an RTX 4090.

Here, you can see the entire bunch. Some of you will enjoy the view. The cables are all black and come in a solid braided casing, so they fit most users’ needs. They are sufficient in terms of number and length as well. Six 6+2 pin PCIe cables are included, measuring 650-750 mm.

The 12+4 pin PCIe is 700 mm long. The 24-pin ATX motherboard cable is 60 cm long, whereas the 8-pin ATX CPU leads are 70 cm long. SATA is 950 and 650 mm long, and the Molex lead is 900 mm. These cables are modular, so you won’t have to plug in the ones you don’t need in your system, reducing cable clutter in your PC.

There is an on/off switch and a push-button for disabling/enabling the semi-passive fan operation. According to the manufacturer, we should find quality components inside, so let’s open it up. Next page, please.

Today we’re putting the new FSP Hydro G Pro 1000W (ATX 3.0) power supply on our test bench. The company (Fortron Source Power) is mainly known for the PSUs, but they also make some chassis and the UPSes. It’s not the first product of FSP that we’ve checked. Previously it was FSP HYDRO PTM PRO 1200 (which earned the “Approved” award) and FSP DAGGER PRO 850 (no award given). The Hydro G (and PTM) Pro series compatible with ATX 3.0/PCIe 5.0 were already announced in March’22, and their launch happened in October’22.

Today we’re putting the new FSP HYDRO PTM PRO 1200 W power supply on our test bench. The company is mainly known for the PSUs, but they also make some chassis and the UPSes. The series was introduced at the end of September’20, so it’s already 1.5 years on the market. But is it wrong, and would it make it obsolete? There were no significant revolutions in the past year in the power supplies. But this will change soon. Why’s that? Mainly because of the implementation of the PCI-Express 5.0 generation's power connector.
