Product Showcase - The build

From the outside, at least, the chassis is very pleasing - to me - in every aspect. Then again, I am a fan of the understated look, so cases that scream 'gamer' aren't to my tastes at all. I don't even much like the RGB craze (I can almost hear the angry mobs from here), though some LED fans and subtle lighting goes a long way to enhancing the look of your build no end.

The chassis will allow all mATX and ITX motherboards without issue, though - of course - bear in mind that mATX builds are not meant as workstations, though there are mATX (and even ITX, looking at you AsRock) models of 'high-end' chipset boards on the X99, X299, and even X399 platforms. Quite how these engineers fit the CPU socket onto the board and still have room for everything else will never cease to amaze me.

As said before, the tint on the glass here is relatively dark, so I would encourage you to use at least some interior case lighting or some LED fans. As most motherboards in 2018 have at least one 1x 4 pin RGB header, this is easily said and done.

For our build, we have used MSI's B350 Mortar Arctic motherboard, along with the following (potentially visible) components:

  • AMD Ryzen R7 1700X.
  • Noctua NH-U12S (x2 NF-F12 fans).
  • XFX RX 480 GTR 8GB, 'Black Edition'.
  • Corsair TX650M Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply.
  • AMD Radeon R3 120GB SSD.

Now, having built in the original Define C and it's Mini C sibling, I can say with 100% certainty that the build experience in the Meshify was identical to a T. That is a good thing. Whilst being compact, the case manages to accommodate excellent cable management, ergonomics, and 'space' in the which the system builder can move freely. It truly is just a small Meshify C, so praise must go to Fractal for making an 'SFF' case (of sorts) that has - in my mind - zero compromises when compared to the big version.

Completed-build

I thoroughly enjoyed the build experience in this chassis, and - when using appropriate hardware - I have little doubt that you will too.
