Fractal Design Define S2 Vision RGB review - Product Showcase - Exterior/Interior

The Fractal Design Define S2 looks very nice in black, and with all this tempered glass. To open the side panels, you simply need to pull them to disengage the newly introduced “push-to-lock latching mechanism”. You can still use the two thumbscrews (especially if you don’t need to open the panels very often), but it’s mostly unnecessary outside of transport situations. Regarding water cooling capabilities, the Define S2 is intended primarily for that kind of setup, with support for 360 mm radiators on the top (with a dedicated fill port), 360 mm in the front, as well as a 240 mm radiator at the bottom, and 120 mm one in the rear. That’s a lot for a chassis of this volume, but in fact, the Define S2 offered even more (420 mm on the top, 280 mm at the bottom). There is a tempered glass panel on the top section, and normally no fans are installed there. You can remove the panel using the release button in the upper-left corner of the back wall.

If you remove the standard panel, you can install the radiator/fan bracket, but for that, you need to remove the standard metal frame first (secured by 4 small screws).

This is the view of the top of the chassis with the fan.

You can install up to nine fans.

  • Front: 3 x 120/140mm (3 x 140 mm preinstalled)
  • Rear: 1 x 120/140 mm (1 x 140 mm preinstalled)
  • Top: 3 x 120/140 mm (with cooling bracket installed)
  • Bottom: 2 x 120/140 mm

The new, recessed front fan mount design has fan rails hidden beneath the fans for a more elegant looking exterior.

The bottom filter can be easily removed, by pulling it out towards the front of the chassis.

The front filter is built into the front cover, on the side vents, and can be removed.

The clearance between the fan filter and the front panel is about 25 mm.

Fractal Design North chassis review
This time, we’re checking out a mid-sized ATX tower PC chassis –a Fractal Design NORTH. The look is inspired by a Scandinavian design, with bespoke details like brass (Charcoal), steel (Chalk), or faux leather tab for easy access to the top of the chassis. It introduces fusing design and airflow engineering. Natural materials like genuine walnut (Charcoal) or oak (Chalk) panels make this gaming case a stylish addition to the living space.
