Product showcase – The Build

On this page, you’ll find a selection of photos of the finalized build inside the Fractal Design Define S2. The GPU that was used has an AIO LCS, and the CPU is cooled either with air (Thermalright True Spirit 120 Direct) or a liquid cooler (NZXT Kraken X62). The Define S2 is theoretically targeted at the liquid cooling market, but an air cooler should also perform well (more details on the following page). The motherboard is an ATX form factor one (and looks relatively small in this Fractal Design chassis), based on the Z370 chipset, with a de-lidded i7 8700K @ 4.8 GHz inside. The GPU comes from Aorus, and it’s the Waterforce version (GeForce GTX 1080 Ti).

First up is the exterior, nothing blingy, and no RGB lighting. Now the look with the PC turned on. Let’s have a peek inside. Looking good, correct?

As for the installation, there were no issues. The PSU is mounted like in many other cases today, using a removable bracket. There’s a 23 mm space for the cables, which should be enough for most typical set-ups.

There are two big rubber grommets on the side of the motherboard, one below it, and two rubber grommets above, and that’s more than enough. Overall – hardware installation was easy-peasy.

The so-called “dark side” is looking quite fresh, as there are three fully enclosed universal HDD/SSD brackets with vibration-dampening rubber grommets.  And now some other shots of the interior with RGB lighting from the GPU and AIO cooler.
