The Fractal Design Define S2 is equipped with two 140 mm Dynamic X2 GP-14 fans. You can install up to three 120/140 mm ones instead. This amount of space is enough to fit even 360 mm radiators.

If you remove the plastic cover, you can fit a setup with a radiator up to 147 mm and a fan (typically 25 mm wide), so the radiator itself can be as beefy as 122 mm, and monsters like that are not even available on the market.

The backside of the Fractal Design chassis has been designed nicely.

You can see three universal 3.5”/2.5” brackets on the left side.

There are two places for SSDs under the backplate cut-out. There is also routing space for a 23 mm cable (you’d want a bit more), two Velcro straps, and 14 tie-down points. All that should help keep things nice and tidy.

The standard cables include USB 2.0, 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C (not every motherboard has headers for that), and front panel connectors (including HD audio).

Additionally, there is a SATA cable for powering up the Fan Hub and a fan cable that needs to be connected to the motherboard.

The other cable is for the fan hub. The wires are black, which improves the aesthetics of the whole package. It’s possible to connect three 4-pin fans or four standard 6-pin (PWM) ones. You need to connect the fan hub to a port on your motherboard to be able to control the fans. Ok, that would be all for the interior part, let’s get to the build section.
