Product Showcase
Once we pop the chassis on its back we can see the bottom side, the case is resting on four rubber feet preventing resonating noises. The PSU will be located on the backside of the chassis, there's a huge bottom mesh here for ventilation and as you can see it is protected with that removable dust filter.
For the top side, they implemented a new 'moduvent' cover. It is secured tightly, on the rear side there is a button that will unlock the unit. This is not perfect though, I found the top cover rather difficult to remove. However, it oozes quality and was thought through very well, and let me show you why.
So that is a two piece part really, new design gives users the choice between a sound-dampening steel cover or filtered multi-fan ventilation in the top panel. And again, sound dampening.
Front panel IO then, arguably it looks a little bland. But you'll find two 2.0 and two 3.0 ports alongside audio I/O, Power button with LED (blue), a reset button though. And once powered on, the power LED will turn blue.
By the way, Fractal Design will offer an optional kit so you can replace the front IO with a Type C (the small USB connector), see some examples in the above photo.
Internals then. First impression, surprisingly innovative features that allow you to install quite a bit yet hide a lot of stuff. At the bottom you can see the PSU compartment, on top you can mound a riser kit for VGA, but also two SSD trays located at the backside could be repositioned at the top of that PSU mount. Nobody would do that I guess, but it is possible. To the right, the black plate can be removed to access your HDDs/SSDs, but this way that is covered up nicely.
Here we can already see the innards a bit better. The top/rear sides have an additional 140mm fan and yeah, the top side can hold a massive 420mm radiator. BTW EATX motherboards are supported, but may only be up to 285mm wide. GPU max length is maxed out at 440mm (but 35mm thick). The CPU 185mm and the PSU 300mm.
