Once we pop the chassis on its back we can see the bottom side, the case is resting on four rubber feet preventing resonating noises. The PSU will be located at the backside of the chassis, there's a huge mesh there for ventilation and as you can see it is protected with a removable dust filter.

Front panel IO then, arguably it looks a little bland alright. But there you'll find two of each USB 2.0  and USB 3.x ports, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C alongside the audio I/O, Power button with LED, and a small reset button. While there is a fan hub, there is no fan controller. Looks good, but USB ports position at the top side this way certainly will collect dust and goop over time.

Internals then. The first impression, there is heaps of space to work in but it does offer surprisingly innovative features that allow you to install quite a bit. I mean take liquid cooling, for example, you could mount:

  • Front – Up to 480/420 mm
  • Top –  Up to 480/420 mm
  • Bottom –  Up to 240/280 mm
  • Rear –  120 mm
So liquid cooling wise the Define 7 XL is a spacious nirvana really. You name it and it'll fit. At the bottom, you can see a nice cover. Underneath it resides your power supply and HDD/SSD cages.

Here we can already see the innards a bit better.  The power supply is covered. Lots of rubberized grommet holes. I am missing something 'white' in that good old Fractal Design tradition though?

Fractal Design North chassis review
This time, we’re checking out a mid-sized ATX tower PC chassis –a Fractal Design NORTH. The look is inspired by a Scandinavian design, with bespoke details like brass (Charcoal), steel (Chalk), or faux leather tab for easy access to the top of the chassis. It introduces fusing design and airflow engineering. Natural materials like genuine walnut (Charcoal) or oak (Chalk) panels make this gaming case a stylish addition to the living space.
