GeForce RTX 3070 has been fitted with 8 Gigabytes of GDDR6 memory, and it runs at 14 Gbps (effective data rate), which is a data-rate most of us can identify with when compared to the last-gen products. We'll show you the full specification details on the next pages. Eye candy first, though.

It has dual-8-pin power headers, each providing 150W, thus 300W. Another 75W is rated for the PCIe Expres slot. So all-in-all, the board design is 375 Watt. Slightly positioned left from the PCIe PEG power connectors you'll notice a micro-switch, this allows for default and OC BIOS modes.  At OC mode we see a slightly more aggressive fan RPM mode, as well as active fans in IDLE. Game performance-wise there's just no noticeable difference in that OC setting.

The cooler extends a tiny bit from the PCB; as you will learn in the teardown, the graphics card PCB itself follows a slightly large form factor that is 30cm in length.  The rest of the real-estate used is for cooling, based on a triple-fan cooler. The backplate has plenty of little air gaps, mesh, whatever you want to call it. We like that as it allows heat to travel away from the backplate as opposed to trapping it.

Depending on the angle, the card can look okay to fabulous, I guess. I am not a big fan of multi-color fan headers for visual reasons, but realistically, this is the 'bottom' side, so once installed, you can't see them. the bottom side of the cooler also exposes the aluminum radiator fins in an effort to more freely exhaust warm air.

The IO panel is also meshed for venting and shows four display connectors, three DisplayPort 1.4, and one HDMI 2.1 connectors that will bring 8K 60 Hz HDR to a single HDMI cable. The card has three fans and uses the traditional power connector design, e.g., 8-pin, but two of them. BTW we love the dark IO plate; it gives the product a nice premium finish.
