Above you can see the GeForce GTX 580, Classified edition. The first impression is great, it just looks fantastic, albeit being a quite sizable. This 3072MB model will become available for roughly 599 USD/EUR. That's a whole lotta money for a product with a year old GPU alright.

The design is nice, we appreciate the fact that EVGA managed to stick to a two slot cooling design, the ASUS cards with triple slot cooler bother me more and more.

The Classified series is clocked at 855MHz and features 3GB of 4.2 GHz GDDR5 memory.  The heatsink cover feels and is mostly plastic though, do be aware of that.

Let's look at the card from several different viewpoints. The GTX 580 card is quite good looking with dark and monitor connectors and then that revised cooler. Cooling down cool the Classified 580 series is the cooler which has a revised thermal design over the reference card. The redesigned cooling design comes with a 8cm fan that should improves cooling efficiency by as much as 30% (compared to the standard cooler) according to eVGA.

Connectivity wise, we see only two dual-link DVI connectors supporting all high-resolution monitors, so there are no HDMI and or DisplayPort connectors. A bit of a shame, the is a DVI to HDMI converter included in the kit, but the last I check they do not carry on audio. So please be aware of that.

The weird looking connector all the way to your left is an EVBot port, you can (optional) purchase an external control pod allowing you to tweak the card externally and not by software. The EVBot is memory serves me right is another 100 USD investment.
