The Verdict

I have to say that the Everest 1010 PSU did surprise me in a positive way. Honestly, I think the color could have been different, the trend are black and stealthy designs right now. But pretty much that's all I can think of. It has the new PCIe 2.0 150 connectors, plenty of connectivity, it's very silent, and it doesn't get warm when stressed.

Next to that some excellent safety features are built in, black wiring, modability and the sheer low-noise level. I tell you, this is one potent masculine power supply to own. The looks and feel are just fine and it has the small ATX design so this unit will for in pretty much any chassis.

Now I know, it's a tad subjective to test PSU's in this class as really, we can hardly stress them. To do so we'd need a Chroma 8000, which is some really serious gear, yet completely unaffordable. We are however looking into purchasing a load unit, yet it's just such an expensive investment ...

We do our best by stressing the PSU in a real-world situation, taken to the extreme. And it passed our tests without the slightest hiccup, noise or protest.

Next to that we just have to factor another positives: High efficiency at roughly +85% This was the first PSU that managed to get the power draw below 500 Watts (489 Watt to be precise). I have tested high-rated PSUs that under the same condition have drawn 575 Watt.

besthardwareaward4.jpgThe downside of a high-end PSu in the Kilowatt class is the price segment. This PSU is among the cheapest 1000 Watt PSU's ... super, you can pick it up for roughly 300 EUR/USD which obviously is still a lot of money to spend on a PSU; but it will be one of the wisest investments you have ever made for your PC. This thing will last you a long time.

The Everest 1010 Watt PSU comes with a three year warranty and is available as we speak. Once again we give away our very hard to get "Best hardware Award"; it's well deserved.

If interested click on the price, as we did find it for $281.04 already.
