Installation

For the EnGenius ECW220S to function an Ethernet connection and a power supply. The most straightforward method for accomplishing this is to make use of a cable known as Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Alternatively, you may use an AC/DC adapter and connect it to a wall socket to obtain electricity, interstingly enough there is no adaptor included in the package. PoE wise a good 100 meters is possible, so even if you have to go a big distance, you can do so. Even if you have a high-speed Internet connection, you will be able to use your computer at full speed if you are inside this range.

Once connected to ethernet and a bit of juice, there's software configuration. The easiest way is this one, grab your smartphone and download / install the EnGenius application, it's simple to set up. Before connecting to the access point, check to see if the app is installed on your phone. Simply scanning the barcode on the back of the case will allow adding the device to the cloud configuration (btw you do need to register to make use of it).

Everything is straightforward, and the setup program is straightforward to use. Additionally, EnGenius' customer care is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you. Soon enough, you won't be restricted to a smartphone application. Of course, you may operate the ECW220S from a computer by utilizing the cloud-based control software.
