Enermax Liqtech 120X and 240 review -
Core i7 3770K OC at 4600 MHz 1.3 Volts
Now we up the ante. Understand that 1.3V and higher Voltages are the levels where Ivy Bridge and Haswell processors get into serious problems due to the aforementioned heat-spreader versus TIM design applied solution from Intel. We now set the Core i7 3770K @ 4600 MHz and apply 1.30 volts on the CPU while loading it with 100% stress for a full Prime95 run on all available CPU threads.
Core i7 3770K OC at 4600 MHz 1.3 Volts - IDLE
Below, you can see the IDLE results with the Core i7 clocked at 3770K @ 4600 GHz with 1.30 volts on the CPU. Again, the results are the IDLE temperatures thus you are in your desktop doing nothing.
Core i7 3770K OC at 4600 MHz 1.3 Volts LOAD
Now we'll be testing the temperatures under stress. If we set the overclock at 4600 MHz and configure CPU Voltage at 1.3V, these are the results.
The temps rise above and beyond 90 Degrees C for a handful of heatpipe based coolers, which is a definitive no-no. As you can see, we have dangerous temperatures for most coolers.
LCS class coolers do better here, however both the 120X and 240 have run out of cooling capacity. It is to be expected with radiators of this size though, so please do consider this to be normal behaviour.
We would not recommend 1.3 Volts with this cooler, you could however give the fans a performance RPM level, which probably will shave off a degree or 2. But at the cost of added noise as at that setting and this overclock, you can really hear the cooler. The reality is that very few coolers and kits can actually manage a Core i7 3770K @ 1.3+ Volts / 4600+ MHz temperature wise.
We test and review the all new Enermax Liqtech 120X and 240 Liquid coolers. Can it keep up with similar Asetek and compeeting products? Let's find out!...
Enermax Fulmo GT review
We review and test the Fulmo GT. Enermax has been going very strong with their power supply and fans. For a while now they also offer PC cases, and more recently they released what seems to be the biggest chassis I've ever laid my hands on. This chassis series has HPTX support for the bigger than biggest motherboards and some pretty cool features as well.
Enermax KW001 Briskie Keyboard mouse combo review
Keyboard kits come in all sizes, shapes and forms .. and that's next to a gazillion of manufacturers that offers them. Surprisingly enough a few weeks ago Enermax, the guys behind the best power supplies and the brightest fans also launched a keyboard/mouse combo. Briskie is all about value and as such for 25 USD/EUR you get a mouse and what we think is a very decent wireless RF keyboard.
Enermax Platimax 850W power supply review
Enermax always is able surprise us, they now have released the Platimax power supplies, that means a platinum certification and yeah .. that boils down to a 94% efficient product. Very few products get this certification. Today we'll grab a couple of older older supplies and see if what they claim is true, can we really save on energy. We fire off three PSU's at a P55 / Core i7 870 based system setup with a GeForce GTX 590. We then monitor power consumption in idle, CPU productivity (stress) mode and then lock into a gaming session.
