Final words and conclusion

Final words and conclusion

Well, apparently size does matter ! What a massive yet very good Full-Tower the Fulmo GT really is.  You get a matte black designed chassis with feature wise options to put in many HDDs and devices. The chassis is fairly tool free. What the Fulmo GT is all about is space for the most high end components versus the airflow that is needed to cool it. You can use endless combinations of fans, included however are already five of them but your optional configuration looks like this:

Air Cooling - Front pre-installed: 1x blue 18cm Vegas fan
Air Cooling - Left Side pre-installed: 2x blue 18cm Vegas fans
optional: 2x 18cm fans
Air Cooling - Right Side optional: 1x 9/12cm fan (max. 20mm depth)
Air Cooling - Top pre-installed: 1x 23cm fan
optional: 1x 23cm fan
Air Cooling - Bottom optional: 1x 23cm fan or 2x 12/14cm fans
Air Cooling - Rear pre-installed: 1x 14cm fan
Air Cooling - Inside optional: 2x 14cm fans (HDD Cooling)

The inside of the chassis is impressive and offers everything you may expect from a chassis anno 2012, there more then enough space to maneuver in. Cable routing options are there, in plethora. A nice detail of course are the grommet holes for cable routing in the motherboard tray with the nice rubber inserts. The HDD/SSD drive cage work simple enough, though you do need screws to secure the actual HDDs, installation should be very easy otherwise.

Easthetics

Overall the chassis doesn't scream with its very little logos, it comes with a nice yet elegant dark design and the rounded edges really finishes it. I do have a dislike for the chrome striping though.

In terms of cooling you'll receive five fans, but you can easily fit more fans in there from top to bottom really. The the upper side of the chassis seems solid, it vents hot air through the indentations so airflow wise we have very little to complain about either.

The fans dude ...

We love the three included Vegas fans, the six effects then can show certainly draw attention, albeit in the end the effect do tend to get very busy so after a while you'll probably end up with fans on with effects. Airflow wise you'll have little to complain, the fans are plentifull and some of them simply HUGE. A couple of them are 18 cm in diameter and the top fan is even 23cm. All these fans can be regulated with a knob at the top side of the chassis, the fan controller. Now one negative here, that knob feels fragile and a little flimsy. Not the best build quality really.

The top side front panel connectivity has been done nicely as well, all connectors are however in plain sight and can not be hidden. Maybe a tip for the next model would be a latch or door for the front panel though as on the top side there's bound the get dust inside the connectors over time. That's not critique yet more an advise though.

We like the top drive bay slash dock, but inevitably it will face the very same problem, dust.

Inside there's not only plenty of space to work in, you can fit multiple graphics cards as well. And if you have an extremely lengthy one, well the chassis just doesn't care as it'll fit either way. There's room for 103.5" HDDs, four optical drives and then the 10 expansion slots and support for even the largest of graphics card just really make this chassis complete.

The paint job is of decent quality. Always do be careful if you purchase one and are installing the motherboard and other components, that paint is easily damaged, so use a cloth or something during installation of the PC.

Final words

So let's finish up this conclusion then. Features wise the Fulmo GT chassis is very decent with a very tasteful design. And that brings the Fulmo GT at a level where it can compete with names like NZXT, Corsair and Cooler Master. It however doesn't feel of the same build quality that say a CM or Corsair chassis offers. Really the internal PCB for fans should have been hidden, the fan controller know feels like it can break if I'd push to hard. Also the HDD dock needs better dust protection as well as the top side front panel.

Overall though I'd give the chassis an eight out of ten point easily, just for size and features alone. The little quirks here and there are easily forgiven. We can definitely recommend the product if you need the space or are a massive liquid cooling fanatic. There is very little wrong with it, you just need to really like the design I guess. Kick ass are the fans, and the sheer size of them. It's good to see that fan controller included as you can find your personal balance in between airflow and noise as well. A chassis at this level comes at a certain price, you'll find it for roughly 225 EUR in etail. So if this is your cup of thea, then we can definitely recommend it.
