Control Software

Control Software

Elgato release software for the WAVE series, that means this software that allows you to define things like your MIC volume, Gain, but also the software will even allow you to mix in music or audio from your gameplay footage, all live. And that function alone made us a bit interested in as to what is we're dealing with.  So in short, a stream MIC with added mixing and teaming functionality.

You need to disconnect the USB cable from your WAVE:3, install the software, and then connect the MIC. The software will then seek the unit and configure it, shortly thereafter you'll end in featured software like shown below.

The software is styled a bit like iCUE, but make no mistake these are separated software suites. basically what you are looking at is a volume mixer that you can use in your live sessions. Each channel needs to be router towards a source (PC game audio), another MIX, or total system audio. Selecting your in and output sources can be a little difficult to grasp at first, but once set up it's done and ready for use.

The most left Slider is the slider for the WAVE MIC itself, open up configuration will give you options gain and output volume as well as a mix slide with your PC input audio. So again it's a mixer. If you have enough sources you can mix them in, a buddy on the mic from a headset or separated MIC, the Wave, then audio from a game or music. you can also link the levels of the monitor and stream mix so they are always the same. So you can fine-tune and mix in the volume levels of each. Basically it brings you control over your audio.

The software does what it does, it isn't that functional otherwise, aside from a preferences button allowing firmware and software updates.
