Practical part - impressions

The Key Light Air includes a freestanding base, so you can use the light on your computer desk, or on the floor One of the best features here is that the base is weighted. This makes it very stable. Also, the height adjustment range is good enough for most cases.

The power cable is 195 cm long, so it might be too short in some scenarios. Let’s head to the software part. Users who pick up the Elgato Key Light Air will be able to download Elgato Control Center, which allows them to set the brightness and colour of the Key Light Air from their PC or mobile. You need to click on the add 'accessory button', and then the control center will begin searching for your Elgato Key Light Air. The Elgato Command Center will ask you to enter your Wi-Fi security key, and once it's done, it should be connected, and your set up will be complete.

You can change the temperature of the light, which slightly alters the colour (ranging from a blue to yellow tint), as well as adjust the overall intensity.

The interface for smartphones looks very similar to the desktop version. If you have any of the Stream Deck devices you won't have to use Elgato Control Center at all. Instead, SD software, lets you add a bunch of buttons that can control the Key Light Air's features like: On/Off, Set Brightness, Adjust Brightness, Set Temperature, Adjust Temperature, and Set Color. Even at the lowest brightness level, the Elgato Key Light Air provides ample illumination of your face. The Key Light Air can also help reviewers, like me, take better product photos on the desk. Here are some practical photos (warm and cold colours visible here):
