Quality modes versus performance

We will be testing and showing our performance benchmark results based up-on almost the best quality settings however with HBAO+ disabled. We do this as you are a PC gamer, and PC gamers want the best graphics. However we also realize that the settings are harsh and pretty challenging with this title. These settings will seriously eat away in your graphics memory buffer. But with a nice 3 to 4 GB graphics card you can play these settings even in 2560x1440. Results will vary though, sometimes in a building you can have low framerates due to all kinds of shader effects, then on a more complex looking outside the framerate can go up bigtime. For mid-range cards we suggest you to use the balanced mode as that is a fine tuned performance level for 2GB cards. Above you can see the performance effect of a GeForce GTX 980 measured at 1920x1080 and 2560x1440. As you can see there is a lot to gain if you run out of performance on your graphics card or preferred resolution. While we use a high quality custom settings, overall I'd recommend you pick balanced mode, which still looks great.

UXGA performance 1600x1200

So we start off nice and slow with the guys and gals that still not on Full HD, the 1600x1200 range in monitor resolution is still  quite popular. Again all tests have the best quality settings enabled but HBAO+ is disabled.

Our scores are average framerates so you need to take a margin in mind for lower FPS at all times. As such we say 40 FPS for this game REALLY should be your minimum, while 60 FPS (frames per second) can be considered optimal with a 60Hz screen. As you can see, the quality settings look good, but are daunting, we'd recommend a Radeon HD 7950 / R9 270X or GeForce GTX 660 Ti to start with.
