This 6Gbps storage unit makes use of Micron 25nm MLC NAND flash memory, this 128GB unit has a good sixteen ICs, eight on each side of the PCB.

And there is the Marvell controller. As you can see this is the Marvell 88S-9174 6Gbps controller, used in several other products from Intel, Corsair and others.

If anything the Marvell 88S-9174 6Gbps controller has proven to be a reliable offering to the SSD market. The downside however is that with less NAND flash memory the write performance tends to go down, hence the 128GB model is slower in writes than a 256GB model.
