MediaSource Player:  This of course is the MediaPlayer that we all know and love from Creative. It supports most common music format out there and is quite flexible in configuring. You have to love the EAX and CMSS function on it so you can mold sound the way you like it.

Here you can treat sound with Smart Volume Management, Time Scaling, Smart Crossfading. It doesn't seem to support MP4/AAC, MPC, MOD and a couple of other formats that could be easily have been supported by utilizing DirectShow codecs.

It's very comprehensive set of tools, which Creative can be proud of.

Next to all that standard software you'll also receive 2 games, Hitman: Contracts (an EAX 4.0 game) and Thief: Deadly Shadows (an EAX 3.0 game), as well as Cubase LE.

The Audigy 4 manages 24bit/96kHz analog to digital conversion and supports low latency ASIO 2 in the driver. For gaming of course it's important to know that it supports all EAX modes up-to EAX 4.0, which in many ways is similar to EAX 3.0.

  • Environment FilteringTM accurately simulates the propagation of sound in both open and closed environments.
  • Environment MorphingTM allows for seamless transition from one environment to the next.

For gamers it's also handy to know that
