Cougar Minos X5 and the Revenger S Mouse Review - Unboxing

Cougar does nice boxes. The black and orange color theme is fairly aggressive and aimed squarely at gamers. I mean, you could use easily use the Revenger S for work, but explaining to your manager about needing ‘a mouse to attack those spreadsheets’ could be awkward.

Both the Minos and Revenger boxes are almost the same. I would venture to say that without seeing or reading a review, it would be difficult to figure out which mouse would be best for you.

Included in the box are the mouse, a manual, a card of some sort, and replacement Teflon feet. Because the shapes of the mouses are different, so too are the feet.

The Minos’s feet are two large patches front and back, while the Revenger S has three feet, due to the cut in the front of the Revenger S. They are both very smooth.

Having the cable on the left of the Revenger S triggered my desire for symmetry, but in practice, it didn’t cause any issues. Also, note the gold-plated USB connector. Also, note the size of the USB plug. In a crowded backside of a computer, the USB plugs are just large enough to be a bad neighbor to your other USB devices.

Overall, nicely done.
