Corsair Vengeance K70 review -
Mechanical Cherry Keys
Let's have a peek at the mechanical switches & keys. You'll receive a set from Corsair with this kit. That also means you can swap them out if needed/required/wished for. The keyboard houses red Cherry MX switches.
-
Cherry MX Black - Linear switch with Actuation Force: 60g (40g-80g overall)
-
Cherry MX Brown Switches - Tactile Switch with Actuation Force: 45g (55g Peak Force)
-
Cherry MX Blue Switches - Tactile & Clicky with Actuation Force: 50g (60g Peak Force)
-
Cherry MX Red Switches - Linear Switch with Actuation Force: 45g
Basically there are four types of Cherry MX switches available: red, black, blue and brown. Each color switch feels different and Corsair actually has this keyboard available in all three color switches (for your personal preference). We have the red variety.
So yes, the K70 is 100% mechanical now. New is also per-key adjustable back-lighting, using red LEDs, so that you can customise which keys are lit, according to the game you’re playing. Corsair keeps the the contoured red WASD and 1-6 key-caps. You can easily install the keys by using the supplied key cap puller tool, just pull them up gently and they'll be lifted out of place.
Our K70 is equipped with Cherry red MX switches as you can see, these are light and responsive. Cherry MX Red mechanical switches are intended for for fast, efficient gaming action with 45g actuation force. The keys are curved a little and are rubberized which gives them a unique feel. I should call it 'contoured' WASD keys I guess.
Obviously you can choose yourself wether or not to use the WASD and 1-6 keys that are contoured and textured. For gaming these are recommended though. And if you don't like them, just replace them back with the standard black ones. It's all about customization with mechanical keyboards. Heck if you game intensely and the letters fade away, you want to be able to replace the keys right ?
There we go, that's like an injection of Bada-bing Bada-BLING my man. But since we see them activated here, let's talk about the LED back-lighting a little shall we ?

Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000 CL36 review
In July, Corsair presented a new series of DDR5 memories: the Vengeance RGB DDR5. The available kits from the RGB edition have a frequency higher than the base 4800 MHz (5200-6600 MHz); the non-RGB version starts from 4800 MHz. We are checking the Corsair Vengeance RGB 6000 MHz CL36 DDR5 kit today. It's in the middle frequency in the series. We already had an opportunity (almost three years ago) to review the Vengeance (Pro) RGB series RAM, but it was for the DDR4; the frequency was 3200 MHz, and it received a "Top Pick" award, and also the Vengeance RGB Pro SL which had 3600 MHz frequency (with CL18) and got the "Approved" award. But let's focus back on the tested DDR5 kit.

The Katar model is a new version of the Katar Pro Wireless that was introduced on October 2020. The Katar Elite Wireless is targeted at gamers, but it should also work more than fine as a regular mouse. This time, the optical sensor is not the 10K DPI PMW3325 but a 26K DPI Corsair Marksman. It has 1 DPI resolutions steps, 650 IPS tracking, and up to 50G acceleration.

Among them, headsets are also available, and the range starts from the budget-oriented HS series (the reviewed one is one of them), then there’s the mid-range Void series, and it ends with high-end Virtuoso. Getting back to the HS series, it starts with HS35, and till now, it also contained HS45, HS50, HS55, HS60, HS65, HS70, HS75, and HS80 (some of them had different variants). We’re checking out the all-new Corsair HS55 Wireless Core in this review. Its debut is on the 20th of September, 2022.
