The hand rest then, well I should really call it a wrist rest. You don't have to use it as you can clip it on or off, but admittedly it is quite comfortable to use it during gaming. The surface is made using dimpled rubber that helps ventilate and grip your wrist even when it is sweating.

The rest itself is made out of thin plastic though, nothing sturdy. To the top right of the wrist rest on the photo you'll notice that the rest is curved a little, this is done to allow your thumb finger some comfort.

For gaming it's great, for typing long letters; not so much really. As a result I did remove it. Then again, I am writing a review on the keyboard and that's not what it is intended for, being a gamers product.

The wrist rest is a more than a rest really. Push the button in front and the top comes of. Underneath you'll find another six mechanical keys with a curved and textured surface. Cherry MX red in da house.

You can easily install the keys by using the supplied key cap puller tool, just pull them up gently and they'll be lifted out of place. The Cherry MX keys are curved a little and are rubberized which gives them a unique feel. I should call it 'contoured' WASD keys I guess.

The rubberized WASD keys work out well. And if you don't like them, just replace them back with the standard black ones. It's all about customization with mechanical keyboards. Heck if you game intensely and the letters fade away, you want to be able to replace the keys right ?

Overall a great looking motherboard. Sturdy design, the wrist rest, the mechanical keys, the aluminum finish. It all works out well. But what about functionality and usage you might wonder ?
