Here we have the dongle (wireless USB adapter), 1.5m USB extension cable and 1.5m USB charging cable. You charge the headphones by connecting them with the small USB B connector. We got roughly 9 hours on one battery charge, that is super long.

You can place the wireless USB adapter into the extension cable or just in your PC. The wireless range is really good, we got roughly 9-10 meters out of it. Even at the floor below (through concrete) in most spots we still had good reception. Of course USB wireless also has a downside, you can't connect these headphones to your HIFI equipment at all -- so the headset is purely for usage with your PC.

So let's get into the nitty gritty, the V2000 kit is the real deal alright, very beefy headphones, I mean check out all that metal! Well, OK, it's a metal foil over the plastic, but it's an interesting design nonetheless.

The Vengeance 2000 is almost your typical big headset, circumaural ear coupling, nicely padded headband, sealed back earcups, but these have the exception of (proclaimed 7.1) surround sound courtesy of Xear from C-Media. We'll get into it later as really... this is a stereo headset with a virtualized surround layer on top of it to create the illusion of 7.1 surround.

So yes, the Vengeance 2000 is a standard stereo headset with two 50mm drivers, but the headset uses Xear from C-Media software to emulate surround sound -- that's a big difference. The big thing here is that software surround is a lot less complicated than stuffing a pair of headphones with 8 speakers, and yet still doesn't quite work as well.
