Specification and Unboxing

As my editor Brann already stated, the original Corsair HS1 was a good start, great design, comfortable, and it sounded pretty good. Of course there was room for improvement, but not much, actually the HS1 is still a great pair of headphones. Corsair, of course, didnt rest on their wonder, they added more headsets, all under the Vengeance brand, the 1500, 1300, and the 1100. Something missing was a wireless version, hence the 2000 now sees the light.

The Vengeance 2000 comes in a suitable cardboard box, with a window on the side so you can see the coolness contained within.  Never mind the picture of it on the box. Lets check out the Technical Specifications compared to the 1500 and 1100 first:

As you can see, the 1500 and 2000 are extremely close to eachother in terms of audio features. Probably the most important specification in there is the fact that the headset is totally wireless, up to a good range as well; we reached 10 meters easily in our WIFI cluttered office.

And though the Vengeance 2000 will work without it, it does come with a driver to enable the surround modes, but I'll get into that later.

Included in the packaging you can find the Corsair Vengeance 2000 wireless gaming headset, dongle (wireless USB adapter), 1.5m USB extension cable, 1.5m USB charging cable, quick start guide, safety leaflet and warranty card (you get two years warranty).

The Vengeance 2000 is fairly heavy, around 360g. One thing that is curious is that there isnt a driver disc included in the box. Youll have to download the drivers for the Vengeance 2000 off of Corsairs site. The drivers are also good for the HS1, 1100 and 1500 in case youre wondering. Mind you, the headphones actually work without drivers installed (tested oN Windows 7) yet for the niche EQ and Surround functionality you'll need to download and install them.
