Final Words & Conclusion

Final Words & Conclusion

The new RM750i is once again a terrific power supply series, though the efficiency level has remained Gold there have been numerous updates to this Rm line. Obviously LINK, you either love it or hate it, there's nothing inbetween really. For your rails configuration however you will need it to switch in-between a single or multiple rails. We prefer a single rails though.

In terms of design Corsair has tweaked a thing or two as well, the new RMi series is all dark with white accents, I like that as it is the trendy color style anno 2015 for PCs. Next to that you will have a really advanced PSU for the money that is 100% modular and ticks all the right boxes in terms of connectivity and silence. As such this Gold certified PSU we think is spot on, at certain loads even closing in at Platinum levels.

Prices

  • 650W - $129.99 MSRP
  • 750W - $139.99 MSRP
  • 850W - $159.99 MSRP
  • 1000W - $189.99 MSRP

Hey that's good news, at a price of 129.99 USD the product pricing is not particularly expensive for what you receive. Stability wise we have very little to complain about. Lovely is obviously the massive single +12V rail as an option, it has more than enough power to handle two graphics cards for even this 750 Watt model, so multi-GPU wise you are good to go as Corsair offers no less then four 6/8-pin PEG graphics headers.

Aesthetics

Aesthetics then, as stated the RMi series looks really good with its dark design. It will look great in any modern age PC. The cables are sleeved black and or flat for some of them. Good to see is that the connectors themselves are all black as well. The added benefit obviously is very clean looking wiring for that ultimate finish. Looking at the RM750i it does remind us a little about the HX series. Corsair improved on it with its fully modular design, being nice & efficient and Corsair added the option to use LINK software as well. So now you may monitor the PSU on several registers and values as well as configure your 12V rails. Anno 2015 we do feel that modular designs are the way to go, and that's where you are in luck as well. You use what you need in terms of wiring, keeping the innards clean and tidy, plain and simple.

Concluding

It is time to conclude this article then. The RM series power supplies we feel offer a great balance in between price and quality, with added benefits to be found in the feature set. Our tests show that the PSU positions itself where it needs to be be in terms of efficiency, and then some.  But lets round things up. The PSU is efficient, has good looks, is modular, is very stable, comes with nice dark cabling and then we have to acknowledge that it is very silent as well. So it's all good really. With a good size of 150mm x 86mm x 180mm it is a bit longer, but will likely install easily in almost any PC. The 139 USD MSRP we feel is fair, it is an MSRP meaning retail and e-tail prices always are lower. For that money you will alos receive a whopping 7 year warranty - IMHO that alone does make up for the few tenners extra in price premium. Componets seem to be in done right, warranty thus is great and yeah the aestheticvs are lovely as well. A little niche is the 12V rails selction, though I am not sure that anyone really cares anno 2015, it sure is a nice option to have.

The RMi series 750 Watt product is simply a solid product that will be recommended by a whole lot of tech media, greal looks and features at a fair price. Nice job Corsair.
