And here's the PCB, interesting to see as it's much smaller than I expected and the PCB itself is just very clean, no SMT havoc of components at all. BTW - we only opened up the GTX. This 6Gbps storage unit makes use of Toshiba MLC Toggle NAND memory. The regular Neutron uses ONFI Sync NAND, otherwise the design and PCB are 100% similar.

Once we flip the PCB around, in the middle there it is, there it is -- the Link_A_Media Devices (LAMD) LM87800 6Gb/s SSD controller can be seen, completely new in this consumer market, but extremely fast alright...

A total of 8 NAND flash memory ICs (8 on one side) are fixed onto the PCB. The NAND FLASH partition are assigned to the LM87800 6Gb/s SSD controller.

To the right you can see 256MB of DDR2 RAM, at the rear side of the PCB a second DDR2 RAM IC can be found.

The Corsair Neutron GTX comprises of 25nm Toshiba MLC Toggle NAND, the standard Neutron-series SSD has the same layout, although the flash is swapped with synchronous MLC NAND.
