Features

MP400  PCIe Solid State Drive adopts PCIe Gen3x4 high-speed interface and highly compatible M.2 2280 specification. The maximum read/write speed can reach 3480 MB/s, and the random read/write capacity of 4K IOPS 600~700K can greatly increase the efficiency of data processing. A large capacity of up to 8TB is released for professional users, which can meet the needs of creators and gamers who need large amounts of storage space for their material. And the built-in smart algorithm management mechanism can ensure operation efficiency, speed and data storage stability. The MP400 is available now in 1TB, 2TB, or 4TB capacities, with an 8TB model coming soon. Conveniently slotting directly into a motherboard thanks to its M.2 2280 industry-standard NVMe form-factor, the MP400 boasts wide-ranging compatibility and high-bandwidth performance, while its high-density 3D QLC NAND memory ensures better value than the previous generation TLC NAND, able to store more data in the same amount of physical space.

We have to say, street prices are a notch lower. out tested 4TB model could be purchased for 590 EUR here in the Benelux. Corsair backs this SSD with a 5-year warranty.

Phison PS5012-E12 controller

Corsair was among the first offering an SSD based on the PS5012-E12 from Phison. The PS5012-E12 makes use of the NVMe revision 1.3 protocol and as you have been able to notice from the SSD specifications, this controller is very fast 3450 MB/s and 3150 MB/s across four PCIs for read and write operations respectively, over a x4 PCIe Gen 3 lane connection that is. Now the shocker, for 4K random read and write operations, the controller is able to perform up to 700,000 operations per second (IOPS) as it (can) makes use 8 NAND channels.

As you can understand, it is ready for SLC/MLC/TLC and QLC and 96-layer NAND. The controller supports for up-to 8 TB storage as well as offering support for external Thunderbolt 3 SSDs.
