Final words and conclusion

An obvious thing first. Make no mistake, this is a large product. You should have a wide desk to fit it in. One difference between this product and other models that you'll usually encounter is the thickness. The MM500 is slightly slimmer and has less padding in its mid-section. This is not necessarily a bad thing, especially for gaming, since it also makes the surface somewhat harder, therefore more similar to rigid mats that help you achieve a better economy of movements.

There’s only one drawback that I have to mention in the summary, and that’s the smell of the rubber base of the mat. It’s a pungent synthetic odor that isn’t going to go away any time soon, it'll take some time. Apart from that, make sure to double-check the measurements, because this mouse pad is almost too large for a regular desk. Moving on to the positives, I have to say I really appreciate the premium fabric finish and the anti-fray edges. The soft surface of the mat is very comfortable under your hands and wrists. The design is great, and it’s not distracting in use.  The rubber base is durable and keeps the MM300 in place at all times, and we did not notice any shifting during our review period Finally, this product is available for the price of 44.99 euros. It’s quite expensive, but the MM350 costs almost the same despite being smaller. If you’re the kind of user who likes to cover their entire desk with a comfortable and insulating surface, the MM500 is the right choice for you. On that note, we’re giving it a “Recommended” award, because the value for money is really good, especially if you factor in the size. That said, this is not a product for everyone, and some users’ desktops may actually be smaller than this giant of a mouse pad, to measure is to know.
