The MM500’s packaging is the most typical design you can think of, consisting of a flexible cardboard box that’s 610mm long (equal to the width of the mat), in Corsair’s trademark corporate black-and-yellow colour scheme, and carrying some basic information about the product.
It is normal to find a mat of this size fully rolled up. The product is made of flexible materials, so it can be folded and unfolded safely.
The box has a small window at one end, which lets the user check the texture of the product before buying it. There aren’t any additional accessories inside, so you get a mousepad in a box, and that’s it.
At 1220 by 61mm, the Corsair MM500 is the most extensive mat that this manufacturer has ever presented. That’s quite an upgrade over the MM350 Extended XL (measuring 930 × 400mm), which was the largest available model up to this point.
This mat will be ideal for users who have a huge desk and want to cover (almost) its entire area with a protective surface to keep their peripherals, monitor, or elbows on. It also comes in handy as a base for your laptop, letting you work comfortably on uneven surfaces that your mouse might have trouble navigating otherwise. Corsair used a 3mm thick rubber mat with a fine-grained cross-section, giving the bottom part of the mouse pad a good grip on the surface of your desk even if it has a glass top.
