As mentioned, that the wrist rest is detachable. You don't have to use it as you can clip it on or off, but admittedly it is quite comfortable to use it for gaming. The surface is made using somewhat dimpled plastic that helps ventilate and grip your wrist even when it is sweating. The rest itself is made out of plastic, for both gaming and productivity, it feels good. It depends on personal preference whether or not you'll use this rest. However, what this release really is all about ... the compatible lapboard.

So basically the lapboard is a dock for the K63 Corsair mechanical gaming keyboards and is paired with a mouse-pad area. It's based on the original lapdog concept. Basically, you slide in the K63 and with retention tabs and retention hooks you secure it into place. Corsair includes an extra set of each of the mounting tabs and hooks, should you ever break them.

The backside of the Lapdog is cushioned with soft NASA foam for user comfort. So yeah, see it as a portable gaming control center that brings the precision of desktop gaming to the living room. Now wireless with proper performance. In total, you are looking at 1.65kg that sits on your lap, and thanks to that padding, it feels feather-light on your lap. I know that some of you find that weigh worrying, all I can say is, trust me it's not an issue whatsoever.

Dual wireless connectivity, enabling you to play when connected to a PC via Bluetooth on your PC via the bundled wireless 2.4 GHz adaptor.  I paired this with the new Corsair Dark Core RGB wireless gaming mouse (will be reviewed soon as well with the new QI charging mousepad) that offers three-mode connectivity like the K63 Wireless, with a 16,000 DPI optical sensor precision to your PC via ultra-fast 1ms 2.4GHz, low-latency Bluetooth wireless or wired USB connection.

You have no idea how comfortable this is gaming wise .. obviously, you need something like your PC connected to the television though. But having that sitting on your lap works out tremendously well and precise.

And if you want to configure the keyboard purely for an aesthetic reason say a little tranquility in your LED animation, that can be achieved just as well. The mousepad is cloth based, stays secure for pixel-precise tracking and can actually be replaced should you ever want to do that..

The K63 Wireless Gaming Lapboard is sturdy and sits solidly on your lap. It has contoured memory-foam, the Lapboard mousepad surface that has some precision tracking surface material on it. It all remains comfortable during long gaming sessions, I played GTA-V and Witcher for an hour in front of the telly without any issues.

You'll have a good range over Bluetooth, I had to step out of the living room and reached roughly 6 meters in a WIFI/Bluetooth cluttered space. I didn't notice lag when hooked-up over the 2.4GHz connection, though to be perfectly honest, I do not qualify myself to be a professional gamer either.
