So yes, it's more plastic and a few features less and of course .. rubber membrane-based. Let's remove a key and see what's beneath.

It might feel like going a little backward, as we went from traditional dome/rubber membrane-based keys to mechanical years and more recently optical keys, but membrane keyboards always have been there. Insane in the membrane.

Light on, BAM. Yeah, I have no issue with rubber dome keyboards other than the relative lack of actuation feedback you might prefer during gaming.  But if you're a typer like me, it probably works out the best. The idea behind mechanical switches is that they give a key press a more perceptible feel as opposed to keys with a standard rubber membrane used in many keyboards. Gamers seem to prefer mechy's very much over dome based keys, however that does come at a cost.

We like to mention that you can control to some degree RGB lighting in hardware mode (without iCUE). Pressing FN key and 1-0 will get you 10 various lighting effects as well as control over speed and rotation of the lighting effects.
