The packaging is rather typical for Corsair – it’s a traditional black/yellow design.
The HS80 RGB WIRELESS arrives in a well-packaged box, a bit differently designed in opening comparing to the previous headsets that I’ve checked.
Inside the packaging, you’ll find:
- HS80 RGB WIRELESS RGB Wireless Gaming Headset
- Wireless USB transmitter
- Roughly 1.8 m USB cable (braided)
- Quick Start Guide
- Safety Leaflet
- Warranty Card
One hundred fifty bucks for the HS80 RGB WIRELESS is quite reasonable considering the new usage of Slipstream technology and Dolby Atmos compatibility. The very solid-looking design (the headset weighs 367 g) features ear cups with on-ear controls and internal memory foam. The HS80 RGB WIRELESS has two 50 mm neodymium-magnet drivers, and that usually offers the best sound as far as I’m concerned. They provide good volume levels and clarity with some bass distortion.
The huge advantage of this headset is that it is wireless (based on Corsair Slipstream technology) and with a good range; we reached up to 15 meters, not the 60ft / 20 meters Corsair is stating, but it’s still good. It is wirelessly compatible with PC and PS4/PS5.
