Corsair HS70 Wireless Headset review - Corsair iCUE Software

Corsair iCUE Software

iCUE Software has been available on the market for some time. Recently Corsair merged it with its Link software iCUE. It’s still in early access but overall seems to be working relatively fine, and frequently updated (iCUE YT clip). Overall, the control panel has a minimalist feel, and I like that. The software displays connected Corsair devices in the top section of the interface. The HS70 shows up without any issues. When I had an H115i cooler, it also appeared in there. It is easy to switch between devices by simply clicking on them. In the device settings, you can check the battery status, enable/disable voice prompts, enable auto shutoff (after a certain time), change the color (virtually of course), and update the firmware. When you want to choose pre-sets for the HS70, a new simple interface pops up as part of the same window. 5 default pre-sets are available. A single click of the mouse is all it takes to switch to one of them. You can’t modify the pre-sets, but their values can be copied and saved as another variant. The available EQ control is more than enough for me, and I think that it’ll be the same for most other users. One remark though, there are only 5 “active” pre-sets, with the others greyed out. If you activate one of them, the others “disappear”. You can also select stereo or 7.1 surround sound here (small tip – it’s usually better to leave stereo on). iCUE is one of the many reasons I think it’s worth paying the premium over HS50 (which I didn’t personally test though). I like to have control “on the fly”. It’s not anything extraordinary, but very useful all the same. It’s nice to have the option to tweak the EQ, and pre-set saving is a good feature. You can download and try it out, new iCUE software here.

Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000 CL36 review
In July, Corsair presented a new series of DDR5 memories: the Vengeance RGB DDR5. The available kits from the RGB edition have a frequency higher than the base 4800 MHz (5200-6600 MHz); the non-RGB version starts from 4800 MHz. We are checking the Corsair Vengeance RGB 6000 MHz CL36 DDR5 kit today. It's in the middle frequency in the series. We already had an opportunity (almost three years ago) to review the Vengeance (Pro) RGB series RAM, but it was for the DDR4; the frequency was 3200 MHz, and it received a "Top Pick" award, and also the Vengeance RGB Pro SL which had 3600 MHz frequency (with CL18) and got the "Approved" award. But let's focus back on the tested DDR5 kit.

Corsair Katar Elite Wireless mouse review
In this article, we review the Corsair Katar Elite Wireless mouse. It’s an optical gaming mouse that was launched today, on 26.10.2022. The Katar model is a new version of the Katar Pro Wireless that was introduced on October 2020. The Katar Elite Wireless is targeted at gamers, but it should also work more than fine as a regular mouse. This time, the optical sensor is not the 10K DPI PMW3325 but a 26K DPI Corsair Marksman. It has 1 DPI resolutions steps, 650 IPS tracking, and up to 50G acceleration.

Corsair HS55 Wireless Core Headset review
Corsair has a broad range of PC components and peripherals. Among them, headsets are also available, and the range starts from the budget-oriented HS series (the reviewed one is one of them), then there’s the mid-range Void series, and it ends with high-end Virtuoso. Getting back to the HS series, it starts with HS35, and till now, it also contained HS45, HS50, HS55, HS60, HS65, HS70, HS75, and HS80 (some of them had different variants). We’re checking out the all-new Corsair HS55 Wireless Core in this review. Its debut is on the 20th of September, 2022.
