Final words and conclusion

Final words and conclusion

The HS65 Wireless is a product aimed at gamers who want a high-quality headset solution without compromising audio (at least in the gaming department) or mic (which is not detachable) quality. The latter should be more than decent for games/chats, especially for a wireless solution. The sound quality is on a very proper level; you won’t hurt your ears even when listening to music (of course, if you’re not an audiophile, although - I don’t think they would even consider this product). The SoundID technology should make it easier to adjust to the specific sound preferences of the user. It is a very lightweight headset (275 g), and the wearing comfort was very good; the (leatherette) memory foam ear pads are appropriately designed. Corsair offers a relatively attractive headset with the MSRP set at 119.99 USD/139.99 EUR.

It’s a good package for your spending, given the two 50 mm neodymium magnets. The drivers offer a sound that’s detailed enough (although it's mainly focused on the bass) and have a broad spectrum. The wireless functionality is a great thing. The range reached 12 meters (Corsair states up to 15 meters), and the safe was ~10 meters. The other thing about wireless usage is the battery life. Corsair says up to 24 hours. We achieved approximately 20 before a discharge.

Wearing Comfort

The HS65 Wireless is good in this respect. It feels excellent in weight (as it’s relatively light with 275 g) and very comfortable, given the simple design. The ear padding is satisfied, the headband is made solidly, and it’s possible to adjust it. Even longer sessions shouldn't be tiresome, and your ears don’t get too warm despite using closed (and with faux leather) ear cups.

Conclusion

You have to spend 119.99 USD/139.99 EUR - HS65 Wireless is a relatively attractive deal. It looks good, sounds good (especially in games), and has a microphone that is adequate for most users. For me, the HS65 Wireless delivers a bit-above-mediocre music performance (but it’s not aimed at that purpose and never was). The SoundID technology should make it easier to adjust to the specific sound preferences of the user. Thanks to proper 50 mm drivers – it’s above average in gaming, and most users should be satisfied with the performance. You get good wearing comfort, and the headset is light (275 g). The headband should be durable, as are the ear cup mounts. The wireless functionality is implemented well; you get a ~20 hours (in our scenario) battery life, ranging between 10 and 12 meters. The 2-year warranty paired with the good build quality is also an essential item to mention in the final lines of this review. It’s not a revolutionary headset (as it's "only" a wireless version of the already-known HS65 Surround), but it's still worthy of an Approved award.
