The packaging is typical for Corsair –a traditional black/yellow design. The HS55 Wireless Core arrives in a well-packaged box, a bit differently designed in opening than the previous headsets I’ve checked.

Inside the packaging, you’ll find:

  • HS55 Wireless Core RGB Wireless Gaming Headset
  • Wireless USB transmitter
  • Roughly 1.8 m USB cable (braided)
  • Safety Leaflet
  • Warranty Card

One hundred bucks for the HS55 Wireless Core is relatively reasonable considering the features. The solid-looking design (the headset weighs 266 g) features ear cups with on-ear controls. The HS55 Wireless Core has two 50 mm neodymium-magnet drivers, which usually offer the best sound as far as I’m concerned. They provide good volume levels and clarity with some bass distortion.

The huge advantage of this headset is that it is wireless and with a good range; we reached up to 14 meters, not the 50ft / 18 meters Corsair is stating, but it’s still good. It is wirelessly compatible with PC and PS4/PS5 (in RF Wireless Mode, not via Bluetooth).
