Specification and Unboxing
So we have been reviewing Corsair headsets ever since I can remember. Packaging is in its recognizable black/yellow design.
The HS50 comes in a carefully packaged box, the risk of damage will be minimal. Inside its packaging, you will find the headset, cables, mic as well as a small guide.
HEADPHONE
- Warranty – Two years
- Frequency Response – 20Hz – 20 kHz
- Impedance – 32k Ohms @ 1 kHz
- Drivers – 50mm
- Connector – 3.5mm 4-pole w/ y-splitter included for PC use
MICROPHONE
- Type – Unidirectional noise canceling
- Impedance -2.0k Ohms
- Frequency Response -100Hz to 10kHz
- Sensitivity – -40dB (+/-3dB)
Obviously, the headset is as 'basic' as analog is, no RGB, no Wireless, No software configuration on the Corsair side. Some find that great, others no. You do need a more proper soundcard in your PC of course. Then again, most motherboards have the ALC 1220 series audio codec from Realtek harbored insider the mobo with some sort of advanced and fancy audio circuitry, which is pretty good.
Included in the packaging you can find the Corsair Gaming headset with its roughly 1.5m of cable (rubber), quick start guide, info leaflet and warranty card (you receive a two-year warranty with this product).
You'll spot some extra cables inside the packaging, actually, these function as a splitter + a unidirectional MIC. Corsair mentioned that it has noise-canceling properties. We tried, and cannot complain about mic audio quality really and voice clarity is particularly done well.
