Corsair HS1 and Sharkoon Xtatic SP Headset Review

Welcome back to another headset review at Guru3d.com.  It is pretty rare that we delve into the depths of the headset market, but today we do.  It is even more unusual that we have two headsets on the test bench today, Sharkoon’s Xtatic SP and the Corsair HS1.  A headset has many roles to play, headphone for music and games, microphone for voice chat, but will they work well for all of them?  While there are no shortage of headsets vying for your attention, which of these two stand out of the margin and worthy of a guru’s attention? Of course, we’re here to help you figure that out.

In the US we have no trouble recognizing Corsair, at first a small memory company started back in 1984 that's grown into a big company with a lot of diverse, and some of the best, products in the enthusiast market.  Sharkoon, on the other hand, is much larger company.

Both the Xtatic and the HS1 are pretty evenly matched.   Both are USB powered, noise-cancelling, sealed-back, circumaural headsets.  Both can fold up reasonably, but since they are both quite large already, it won’t hide much.  The Sharkoon Xtatic SP can play with your PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.  Both come in any color you choose as long as it’s black.

There are some interesting differences, of course, and that’s what we’re here to find out!  Let’s get down!

Corsair K70 PRO RGB keyboard review
The Corsair K70 RGB Pro keyboard is the one we’re reviewing today. It’s not the first one from the K70 series checked on guru3d. Previously those were K70 RGB Rapidfire Mk2, also in a low-profile version, and as a TKL, so overall, there shouldn’t be any significant surprise as far as the general concept goes. Corsair K70 RGB Pro takes some K100 RGB and (most of) K70 RGB TKL CHAMPION (already mentioned) features. The suffix “Pro” wasn’t used yet, so probably it was the right time for that.
