The H90 is a 140mm Performance Liquid CPU Cooler, so if you recognise the design that would be why. The cooling setup itself uses that all to familiar low-profile cooling unit design with a micro-channel copper cold plate. Here is the Corsair PR skinny on the product:

The Corsair Hydro Series H90 is a fantastic choice for cooling your Intel or AMD CPU, whether you just want low, reliable CPU temperatures and low noise, or you want to crank up the frequencies and CPU voltage for greater performance. The Hydro Series H90 builds on the success of the existing Hydro Series CPU cooler product line by offering a larger radiator, and quieter 140mm fans. The H90 also includes the latest generation copper cooling block with improved flow and new hoses made from a highly-flexible rubber material which resists evaporation and makes routing and installation easier. The H90 uses a standard 3 pin fan header for the pump unit, and a 4 pin fan header the included fan.

The Hydro Series H90 radiator is bigger than most traditional all in one water coolers, so you will need to be sure that you are using a case that has room for mounting a 170mmx140mm length radiator, you will find a compatibility chart listing compatibility with Corsair cases below in the installation section. Just like previous models of our Hydro Series Coolers, the Hydro Series H90 supports both AMD and Intel sockets right out of the box. All current AMD and Intel sockets are supported.

All current Intel socket formats are covered too, so whether you have a LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1366 or LGA2011 motherboard, the Hydro Series H90 can cool your processor out-of-the-box. The AMD and Intel brackets now magnetically attach to the cooling unit so you no longer need a screwdriver to switch them out.

The Hydro Series H90 includes one 140mm fans that offer high static pressure with low noise levels. The high static pressure is essential for good cooling performance, as it enables a sufficient amount of cold air to be pushed through the dense array of cooling fins in the radiator. 140mm fans are able to move more air at a lower RPM than 120mm fans, making this cooler an ideal choice for anyone that wants good cooling and low noise levels.

With dimensions of 140mm x 170mm x 27mm, the H90 uses a larger radiator than other last-gen Corsair Hydro Series coolers. The benefit from this increase in size is that there is more surface area for the fans to come into contact with and effectively cool. Another benefit of having a larger radiator is that there is a higher capacity of liquid within the unit. The increase in liquid means that it takes longer for the liquid to make a complete loop through the cooler, giving it more time to cool off before making its way back to the cooling block, where it will continue to remove heat from the CPU.

If you stick to Corsair chassis then the H90 will fit on the following cases ate these locations:
  • TOP mount - 900D, 650D, 500R and C70.
  • REAR mount - 550D
Corsair will give your a cool 5 years warranty on this product. A quick search shows prices of roughly 90 EUR for the H90 here in the Netherlands. But let's have a look at the product in more detail.
