Ok then, we are ready to review Corsair Hydro Series H70. If you are serious about high-performance computing and overclocking, you already know that youve need to have your PCs processors cool. In order to do this you need a CPU cooler that not only outperforms your current heatsink, but preferably also does that quietly.

The Hydro Series H70 has been designed to deliver exceptional levels of cooling performance, and to provide significant headroom for overclocking your processor, quietly and reliably. To avoid misunderstandings we have added some noise level measurements in next pages as well.

According to Corsairs advertisement, the Hydro Series H70 is a significant upgrade of H50 that enables it to deliver even greater cooling performance than its predecessor. These upgrades include a thicker 120mm radiator unit (50mm) with a higher heat-exchanging capacity, and a more efficient, low-profile pump/cold-plate unit that can soak up more heat and provide even lower CPU temperatures. The Hydro Series H70 also features two speed-switchable 120mm cooling fans in a push-pull configuration to provide powerful cooling airflow at low noise levels. Also, it is compatible with all current CPUs socket designs:

Specifications

  • Compatibility: Intel version: LGA775, LGA1156, LGA1366; AMD version: Socket AM2/AM2+/AM3/K8
  • Radiator Size (mm): 120 x 50
  • Fan Dimensions (mm): 120 x 25 mm (per fan)
  • Noise Level: 26 31.5 dBA (per fan)

Features

  • Pre-filled, closed-loop system is easy to install. No maintenance.
  • Copper CPU cooling plate for maximum cooling performance
  • Integrated pump and reservoir is sealed for zero maintenance and improved leakage protection
  • 120mm radiator for fast heat dispersion
  • Two high-efficiency, 120mm fan for drawing cool air across the radiator at speed of 1600 or 2000 RPM
  • Two-year warranty

The first concern with this product is its actual s price, which is tagged around 110 Euros. Corsair, wanted to justify the high price, and offers a single 120mm radiator one of the thickest models in the market.

For those who are novice in water-cooling fields, the thicker the radiator is, the higher the cooling performance is.

Although many thrilled users expected a dual 240mm radiator, Corsair chose again to use a single 120mm one. Maybe, we will witness such a implementation in the forthcoming H90 (who knows ?). Finally, another point worth mentioning is that there is a capability of using a push-pull fan configuration mount onto the radiator, which is also a factor that improves heat dissipation.
