So Corsair recently introduced two new LCS (Liquid Cooling System) kits. Let's get one thing out of the way first, both the H80 and the H100 are designed together with CoolIT, so if you recognise the design ... that's why. The cooling setup itself uses that all to familiar low-profile cooling unit design with a micro-channel copper cold plate and a split-flow manifold.

What you'll notice right away is that on the CPU block Corsair has placed a digital fan control button. It allows you to select between three different cooling modes that control the rotation speed ( RPM) of the radiator fans.
The radiator is the only component to differ between the two Hydro Series coolers, as the H80 comes with an 120mm unit, while the H100 features a much more preferred 240mm radiator.

The H100 can only be installed in cases with fittings for a standard 240mm radiator, while the H80 is compatible with almost all cases that feature a 120mm fan mount.

Technical Specifications Hydro Series H100:

  • Radiator dimensions: 122mm x 275mm x 27mm
  • Fan dimensions: 120mm x 120mm x 25mm
  • Fan speed: 1300 - 2600RPM
  • an airflow: 46 - 92 CFM
  • Fan dBA: 22 - 39 dBA
  • Fan static pressure: 1.6 - 7.7mm/H20
  • Hydro Series H100 requires a case with dual 120mm fan mounts with 15mm spacing for a 240mm radiator.

Both the H80 and H100 include a Corsair Link digital connector, which, when combined with the Corsair Link Commander unit and the special Dashboard software, can monitor and control the water cooler's performance.

Radiator Dimensions 122mm x 275mm x 27mm
Fan Dimensions 120mm x 120mm x 25mm
Fan Speed (+/- 10%): up to 1300 RPM (Low Noise), 2000 RPM (Balanced), and 2500 RPM (High Performance)
Fan Airflow 46 - 92 CFM
Fan dBA 22 - 39
Fan Static Pressure 1.6 - 7.7mm/H20

"With the H80 and H100, we've kept our focus on the key features that have made the Hydro Series a success closed-loop reliability, straightforward installation, and, of course, the best CPU cooling technology available." said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and general manager for Components at Corsair.

"The user-selectable fan control and Corsair Link Digital compatibility gives performance enthusiasts the power to customize their cooling performance and manage fan noise by selecting the amount of cooling they need," concluded the company's rep.

The Hydro Series H80 and Hydro Series H100 are available as we speak, and the recommended retail price is set at $109 and $119, respectively.

A quick search shows prices of 85 EUR for the H80 and 90 EUR for the H100 here in the Netherlands. But let's have a look at the product, in detail.
