Meet The Commander

A Meet & Greet

So then, we'll start off with really what is a photo-shoot combined with information. Below first peek at the kit, well multiple kits tested in this review. We opted for some "moar" as the Commander PRO really is about the symbiosis of RGB gear that Corsair offers.

For today's review we'll check that new Pro model but use the HD 140 (RGB Fans) and Lighting Node Pro (LED strips). It's expensive stuff, and actually anything enthusiast class PC wise is expensive these day. But man, it does look nice. While I do not have a final MSRP pricing on the Commander PRO just yet I expect it to be in the 79 euro / 69 USD range. A Corsair HD 140 RGB FAN kit (with included LED controller and two fans) is 65 Euros and the Lightning Node Pro set ticks in at 55 euros as well.

Here we have the all new Commander PRO. You'll receive the unit and then: four fan extension cables, four thermal sensors and two LED Strip connector cables. So why use the Commander PRO? Well, if you don't want to manage your fans and additional thermal sensors through the BIOS, a solution like this is a very proper alternative. It controls all your fans up-to very precise and preferred levels, but also pumps and LEDs from within the single software interface on your desktop, which admittedly is much welcomed.

The Command PRO can manage up-to six fans (you can split each channel also with say a y-splitter and do two fans per channel), two LED strips, four temperature sensors but also you will see a USB 2.0 HUB. The unit can push up to 12W per fan and thus channel. The RGB LED channel can handle 24 watts per channel. The unit is powered by a single SATA power connector and needs to be plugged into an internal USB header for LINK functionality. You'll be able to mount the device behind most motherboard trays thanks to its slim design.

Here we can see that a little better, everything is configurable and can be monitored from the Corsair LINK software. ANd yes, if you connect it all, that's a whole l0tta wirez to manage yo!
