Meet the Kaby Lake Core i7 7700K processor. Looking familiar alright, processor package size wise. The processor is an Intel engineering sample showing the code-name QKH8 with a base frequency of 4.20 GHz and a boost up-to 4.50 GHz.
These processors are housed in the LGA 1151 socket package. The good news is that your processor coolers will all fit perfectly on this CPU, you'll need a compatible series 100 or 200 motherboard like Z170 (with compatible motherboard BIOS) or any Intel Z270 chipset.
For our review we will be pairing the Core i7-7700K processor with a Z270 motherboard. Intel does not manufacture reference motherboards anymore for the consumer market.
