Overlocking the Core i7 7700K, our findings show that the ES sample is a pretty OK overclocker. Coming from a 4200/4500 MHz base/turbo clock going to a steady 5000 MHz isn't bad. So yes, we reached a stable 5000 MHz (similar to the 7600K) as bootable and need 1.300~1.350 Volts for that.
The overclock entails nothing more than increasing the multiplier and CPU voltage. It appears that for the 7700K 1.300~1.350 Volts is the magic region to get to ~ 5.0 Ghz. Above, the overclock as well as an XMP configuration for 3866 MHz on the DDR4 memory. Overall we can add some extra performance. This tweak results in an increase in power draw (socket side) for the PC with the CPU under stress to roughly 150 Watts. Not overclocked that range sits at 100 Watts.
